Public invited to view proposals

Bovis Homes and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, will host a public exhibition next week showcasing the masterplan and key features of the proposed Melton Road, Edwalton development.

Held over three days, the exhibition will offer the local community the chance to view the proposals and speak with members of the development team before a planning application is submitted later this year.

Barry Herrod, regional planning manager for Bovis Homes said: “The public exhibition will be an important exercise as part of our planning process. It allows us the chance to discuss features of the proposed development and hear
what is most important to the local community. The comments will help shape the final application which we will hopefully submit in the Spring.” Details for the public exhibition are:

 

Bovis Homes and David Wilson Homes North Midlands are proposing to develop 62 hectares of land along Melton Road, north of the A52.

The plans for the site will include around 1200 new homes (including 30 percent affordable for rent and shared ownership), a new primary school,enhanced secondary school facilities, and a dedicated bus route into the city. A
new high street with a range of uses including retail, community facilities, and employment options is also proposed.

An additional 33 hectares of land will be dedicated as a fully accessible community park.
