How the traffic system will work:
It is anticipated the proposed development will create 8,400 people movements. This figure can be broken down even further.Half of these people are already on the roads in and around Nottingham as confirmed by the Nottingham City Transport Model.
A further 25% of these will be carried by bus while 10% will not leave the development during peak times as they live and work on site, therefore causing no external traffic issues.
5% of people within the development will cycle or walk which leaves just 10%. This works out at 420 in each direction per day of which no more than 300 will be within the same hour.
The junctions in and out of the development are designed to limit flows to 150 in an hour in any one direction as a result. This traffic system has been designed to ensure that the development will not cause any more congestion to the already busy road network in the area.
